The brain interprets information through neurons – a series of complex nerve cells. As a person learns, a group of neurons work together and process out the information needed for accomplishing the task, feeling or physical gesture. When a mission is unfamiliar or highly demanding, the neurons seek help from other nearby neurons then returns to their place after the method has been mastered. This process increases speed, making completion easier.
However, not all neurons work alike in making information processing consistent. Here are some of the signs to look out for:
If you have experienced these situations with your child, simply let us assess the problem so we can solve it and give your child a lifetime of faster and easier learning through the practice of Brain Training. After all, learning problems is not due to a lack of motivation or tuition, but rather specific weaknesses in cognitive skills.
Cognitive skills are the most essential and fundamental tools of effective learning. They are the brain skills or mental mechanisms that interpret incoming information to enable understanding and problem-solving. These skills need to be in top shape for the brain to process information or one’s learning ability would be difficult and tiring.
Cognitive skills are not study skills but inborn underlying mental skills. They are the foundations of learning. These include:
- Auditory processing — the ability to discern sound codes, critical for listening or comprehension
- Attention skills — the ability to sustain, divide and select information
- Logic and Reasoning — the ability to deduce a solution given a set of problems
- Visual processing — the ability to manipulate objects, pictures and images in space
- Working Memory — the ability to retain, recall and apply learned knowledge
- Processing Speed — the speed of processing any given input task and perform the output
A weakness in any one of these areas will result in learning difficulty, which can limit a person’s scholastic progress, especially that of a child. During academic studies, strong and developed cognitive skills are required to sustain ease of learning. Although cognitive skills develop naturally in the brain, some children’s’ brain development is slightly slower. This can result in a loss of motivation and struggle in one’s studies.
Here is our solution! Brain Training can develop cognitive skills through a series of exercises and activities to enhance and strengthen each cognitive skill.
Once strengthened, these skills not only enhance the student’s capacity to learn, but also leads to
- A naturally increased confidence
- Improvement in self-esteem
- Internal self-motivation
- Lifetime potential for achievement
And many other possibilities! What are you waiting for? Visit our centre now and give your open the door of opportunities to your child!
Step 1: One-on-one Assessment
The assessment will be personally conducted by one of our Certified Trainers. Your child will be given a simple cognitive exercise designed to measure the strengths and weaknesses of your child’s cognitive skills.
Step 2: Brain Training Program
Based on the assessment results, the trainer will recommend the appropriate program to enhance your child’s foundational learning skills.
